Overpopulation and the Pro-lifers: Russell Odell

Population
Thirty-three years ago, Monday, November 20, 1967, a Census Clock hung in the lobby of the Department of Commerce Building, Washington, DC, indicating that the population of the United States was 200 million. Only three other countries in the world had larger populations: China, India and the Soviet Union.
Ten years ago, 1990, the Clock indicated that the population of the United States had grown to 249 million, a gain of 49 million people in 23 years,. This is a gain of two million people a year.
Population and pollution, worldwide, were increasing but the land on which to grow our food was decreasing.
Before man walked on earth millions of years ago, the little pollution caused by Nature such as volcanic eruptions, was readily absorbed and corrected by Nature itself. The animals had clean air to breathe, water was safe to drink and unpolluted soil brought forth its fruits.
About 1.5 million years ago man made his appearance. Slowly at first, the earth, because of man, began to deteriorate. Today, the air we breathe is unhealthy, the water we drink is questionable and the soil is so denuded of nutrients we have to prop it up with chemicals.
We have heard much of late concerning the population explosion. Stories appear in the daily papers, radio and TV devote full-hour programs to discuss it. In spite of the worthy information, many cannot understand the incapability of the earth to sustain these heavy population increases.
The world never required man’s help to produce food until man began increasing his specie, requiring more food beyond what the land could normally produce.
Man, with his great intellect, figured he could outsmart Nature. He began monkeying around to produce more food with his chemicals. By the use of the chemicals, more food was produced. We were lulled into believing there were no limits to what the soil could produce. We did not realize that the population of the world was increasing faster than we thought.
To counteract the harmful insects, more chemicals were added to protect the crops. Food production continued to increase. Chemicals seemed to have the answer to everything, they were considered a blessing. We could not let Nature take care of its own business because we had to keep up with the demands of an increasing population.
In 1962, Rachel Carson wrote her famous book, “Silent Spring” that warned against the use of these chemicals. In 1992 Helen Caldicott, MD, wrote her book “If You Love this Planet,” offering a plan to heal the earth. We began to realize we were headed for disaster. The population rate has increased so fast that today we have to try to feed 100 million new mouths each year. But the tillable soil used for food production continues to shrink. The soil has reached the saturation point where it can no longer handle more chemicals. The chemicals have leached through the soil and polluted, in some locations in the United States, water sources that can no longer be used for human consumption.
Will of God?
The population has increased beyond the subsistence level of what the soil can normally produce. In many nations of the world, there is not enough food to sustain its people. However, the population continues to increase unabated. Little is being done to control it except to hold more meetings to discuss how serious it is. In the meantime we have one hour TV Specials showing people dying in the streets of India and on the plains of Africa, dying because of overpopulation and the problems that it entails. They are the unwanted children of yesterday and today. Somehow they still manage to propagate themselves, food or no food. The world looks on with sad eyes and the pro-lifers, blessed by their Church, encourage them to continue having babies because IT IS THE WILL OF A LOVING AND UNDERSTANDING GOD (?). Instead of being taught how to help themselves they are taught that birth control and abortion are sinful in the eyes of God, even though they can’t prove this by their Scriptures.
I have searched in my Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible only to find that the word “abortion” is not in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.
The murdering of man, woman child and babies born or unborn, was justified in the eyes of God when He caused the flood. God found it necessary. Likewise today, we too, find it necessary not to cause the death of the living as God did during the flood but to control human population. Birth control prevents life from coming into the world to suffer unwanted pain for the want of medical attention or the pains of starving to death. These are the things we should be concerned with if we are to be good Christians as well as understanding human beings. We cannot be one without the other, but we can be a one-sided hypocrite.
If someone talks of birth control, all hell breaks loose. Certain religion-backed groups go berserk by blocking doors to abortion clinics. Some fanatics have even taken to murdering those who oppose them. They are adamant at denying others the right of free choice but protecting their style of free choice. They want their choice legally forced on others. That is the beginning of a dictatorship. They participate in mob street gatherings; candle light vigils and everything except giving of their time and money to support and care for these unwanted children they want brought into the world. This same pro-life group can sit night after night in front of their TV screens with tears in there eyes, while they watch children and babies dying in the Third World Countries. Then, come Sunday you will find them in church singing hymns and praying to God to correct this awful mass suffering of humanity. The next day they are back in the streets “en masse” blocking the doors of clinics to help propagate the suffering they had asked God to eliminate. Perhaps they will direct God Himself what to do as God does not seem able to do it. Does God wonder why their actions don’t agree with their prayers? They have given the word “hypocrite” a new dimension even in God’s eyes.
What do the governments do about the overpopulation problem? They form committees to study the problem. A political committee is a group of people who individually can do nothing, but collectively can meet and decide that nothing can be done about it at this time.
In 1980 the Department of Agriculture put out a bulletin showing the world’s crop growing areas. It showed 20 percent of the world too arid; another 20 percent too cold; 20 percent too mountainous; 15 percent too poor to grow anything and 16 percent was grass lands and forest. This left only 9 percent to grow crops. This nine percent figured out to be a little over five million square miles of tillable soil. To visualize what this amount of land looks like, take a globe of the world, turn it upside down and look at the continent of Antarctica. This continent’s area is five million five hundred thousand square miles. This is the amount of land there was in the world in 1980 to grow food. The land size cannot increase, the population can, and does. To increase the problem, each year we lose about 30,000 square miles of land to the encroaching deserts of the world. This is about the same amount of tillable land of all of Great Britain.
In 1922, Kenneth Davis published his book, “Don’t Know Much About Geography.” On page 160 is a small diagram showing the tillable crop lands of the world. They have shrunk from the nine percent of 1980 to only six percent in 1992 (This in only a 12 year period). However, the population increased by the millions. How long do you think we can keep this up?
In some parts of the world, 30 percent of the annual harvest is lost because of inadequate grain and storage handling. The United States Agriculture Department has estimated that five percent of all food grains in the world are lost before consumption. A crop isn’t food until it is eaten.
We fail to realize how large some of the world’s countries are. Consider this: Whenever you look at a full moon, you are looking at a surface area of 6.6 million square miles. If you could pick up the Soviet Union and lay it across the face of the full moon, it would blot out the moon and have two million square miles of Russia left over. With this excess you could cover two-thirds of the United States. Russia’s population is increasing every day but not its tillable crop areas. Food and population walks hand in hand everywhere in the world. They will either equalize or we will slowly starve to death.
Oceans
Let us look a step further. The world’s oceans have a delicate food chain. All ocean food begins with microscopic Phytoplankton (plants) that is eaten by Zooplankton (animals). They have no locomotion of their own but drift or float in the ocean’s surface waters. Plankton is the food source, directly or indirectly, of all animal life in the ocean. It is estimated the oceans produce some 500 billion tons of phytoplankton yearly. This is food for the zooplankton and other ocean life. Fish eat both phytoplankton and zooplankton. Big fish eat the little fish and so up the food chain of the ocean.
The largest animal in the world, the Blue Whale, can eat 9,000 pounds of krill in a day. Every time it swallows it can gulp down over 100 pounds of krill. (Krill are shrimp-like creatures about an inch in length and are eaten by whales, fishes, squid and sea birds. Krill is one of the animal zooplankton, Euphausis superba, and occurs in vast numbers in some sections of the oceans with some estimates of about one billion tons per year.)
If the ocean gets too polluted, and it is well on its way to doing this, and kills off just the phytoplankton, it will lead to the extinction of animal life in the oceans from the smallest to the largest.
Each year we take over 75 million tons of food from the oceans. Once the phytoplankton is destroyed, so is the 75 million tons of sea food.
Every year industries in the United States dump an estimated 6.5 trillion gallons of waste and sewage into our oceans. In a short span of nine years, beginning in 1980, oil spills average three million gallons per year.
A recent two-year study by the Food and Drug Administration showed that 70 percent of all seafood was contaminated with various chemicals. As more food supplies deteriorate and the population increases, the problem of feeding the world increases.
As a kid some 75 years ago, I remember seeing large posters in the New York City Subways displaying African children with their bloated bellies caused by malnutrition and other ailments. The posters implored the people to send money to help feed and care for these unfortunate children. Today, 75 years later, I see TV programs showing the same situations with pleas to send money to help feed and care for these children. Nothing has changed in 75 years except there are millions more of them. Their population growth has outstripped their food supply. Sending money is not the answer. It is foolish to keep perpetuating this overpopulation charade, believing we are helping them. They must be taught that their sex drive is killing them. Maybe it is a great sensual feeling to kill yourself this way but I don’t see any smiles on their faces, dead or alive. Someone has to tell them about the birds and the bees and to use force, if necessary, to make the information understood.
Sex Drive
Being concerned with overpopulation isn’t something new. More than 200 years ago, Thomas Robert Malthus (1766-1824), a pioneer in modern population studies, an economist and a sociologist wrote a paper in 1798, “An Essay on the Principle of Population.” He contended that poverty and distress are unavoidable because population increases faster than the means of subsistence. As a check on population growth he thought the only checks were war, famine and disease. After much heat from the do-gooder of his day, he revised his paper in 1803 and added, “Moral restraint as an additional curtailment to overpopulation.” But moral restraint did not work then and it doesn’t work today and I feel it never will. To control the sex drive of the world is an impossibility. The only country in the world today that is holding to some rules and regulations to control their overpopulation is China. We may not approve of their methods, but they are concerned with controlling their population. Other countries, including the United States, look at overpopulation as something that just happens naturally. There is always some political talk that something must be done, but so far, that is all it is—talk.
There was a conference of world leaders who did meet a couple years ago to talk about it. All the important delegates had much to say but nothing was agreed on. It was a nice conversation topic. All the delegates had a free paid trip, fancy dinners and a good time was had by all. Some time in the future when politics gets dull, they will probably call another world conference and enjoy themselves again.
Dr. Stephen Mumford heads the Center for Research on Population and Security. He is a leading researcher and writer on population issues. He has published six books and 89 articles on the subject.
Dr. Mumford says the Catholic Church hierarchy thwarted efforts to alleviate the world population crises. By hierarchy, Dr. Mumford means, “…the priests, bishops, cardinal and the pope—not the laity.”
All good Catholics believe the Pope is God’s personal representative on earth and God is supposed to guide him as he cares for the flock. Therefore, whenever the Pope formulates a teaching, it cannot be changed because the instructions came direct from God and God does not make mistakes. The Pope’s teachings therefore are said to be infallible.
The Pope is to the Catholics what Moses was to the Jews, their direct contact with God. However, no one ever heard God speak to Moses and no one has ever heard God speak to the Pope. I question the infallibility of either dogma. Moses was, and the Pope is, a great man and I have the highest respect for both. I also look at both as self-appointed dictators in their own right. They never allowed themselves to be placed in a democratic position where their teachings could be challenged for authenticity. They hide behind the cloak of mysticism and are not to be questioned. These are the things that make me agnostic.
Dr. Mumford points out, “Civil law, which legalizes contraception and abortion, undermines papal authority. The Church insists that only it can determine what is moral. By passing these civil laws, governments are challenging the prerogative of the pope to be the ultimate authority on what is moral. Because most Americans look to the democratic process to determine morality, the authority of the pope is threatened by this process. In the simplest analysis, the Church cannot coexist with such an arrangement, which in its view, threatens the very survival of the papacy as a world power.”
It appears therefore that abortion is not for abortion’s sake alone but rather who has the power to set the ultimate standards for morality, the Pope or the Congress of the United States? Who governs America?
Is it more moral to encourage the creation of more people into this world, when it has been proven beyond all doubt, for years, that we cannot feed them, clothe them, educate them and give them medical and moral support? Then let them die of disease and starvation in the streets? Is this the new standard of morality we are supposed to be looking forward too—world wide, because the Pope doesn’t want his authority challenged as the only one who can set the morality standards for the world?
Prophecy
“The World Today,” by Clyde Kohn and Dorthy Drummond, states on page four, “You had a birthday last year. So did 3.5 billion other people. You and most of these 3.5 billion others will have another birthday this year. So will 65 million more who were born during the last 12 months.”
From this statement you can gather that the population of the world is growing rapidly. Every minute of every hour there are 125 more people on the face of the earth. Every hour of every day the population increases by 7,500. Every day of every year, at the present rate of growth, the world’s population increases by 180,000. Thus, in just one year, there are 65 million more people on earth than there was last year. At this rate of growth, it is expected that in 1980 there will be about 4.5 billion people in the world. By the year 2000 there will be 6 billion people.”
The above book was published more than 30 years ago by the McGraw-Hill Book Company. The above text reads like a prophecy, and it came true! World’s population today stands at 6 billion.
They knew the potentials of a population explosion 30 years ago. Did governments or the churches do anything about it? Of course they did. They held meetings and discussion, formed committees to study the problem, and then forgot about it. The world was big, there was room for everybody. It wasn’t anything too serious and they would keep an eye on it. That was par for the course and it still is.
Chapter One of the above book is titled, “The Population Explosion” (page 4). “Over half of the world’s population is now underfed, poorly clothed, poorly housed, poorly educated and without enough money to buy the things they need.” Do you think that 65 million more people each year will be better fed, clothed, housed and educated? The point to remember here is, this statement is from a school text book that was published 30 years ago.
It is common knowledge that since the beginning of the 19th century, the world’s population has increased five fold. At the present time (1999) there are 220,000 babies born every day. (150 every minute, or one baby every half second.)
It is predicted that Africa will pass the 1,000 million mark by the year 2010. If India doesn’t control its population growth, in ten years it will surpass China
Asimov
Isaac Asimov in his book, “A New Guide to Science,” looks at the population explosion from a more technical viewpoint. Asimov writes, “Even if we could imagine artificial production of food stuffs out of the inorganic world via yeast culture, hydroponics and so forth, no conceivable advance could match the population if it continues to double itself every 35 years as it is doing.
”At that rate, by the year 2600 the population of the world would be 630 thousand million. Our planet would have standing room only, and each man, woman and child, would have to stand on 2.5 square feet. This would include people standing not only in the freezing cold of Greenland, but standing on the ice of the continent of Antarctica.
If the human species could be imagined as continuing at this rate, by the year 3550 AD, the total mass of humans would be equal to the mass of the planet earth.
[The formula for the mass of the earth is 6.6 times 10 to the 26th power in tons. This figures out to be 6,600 billion billion tons.] (Notice it is billion billion.)
From the book, “Our World,” published by the National Geographic Society in 1979, page 155, “More than half of the world’s people live in Asia, most of them in the lowlands of India and China. Despite birth control measures, population expands at the rate of 100,000 a day. People live longer because of better medical care. In Calcutta and average of 80,000 persons jam every square mile.
”Population pressures put impossible demands on Asia’s food resources. Crop failures, crude agriculture methods and the destruction of their wars have forced many countries to import food from the Western World. Western farming practices are also being adopted. In some areas the introduction of new strains of rice and other grains have produced more food. But, the spreading of desert areas, particularly in India and Pakistan, limits production.”
This piece of information we had 25 years ago. What action did we take to correct it? We held meetings and formed committees. No one got too excited. The problem was one to be solved later.
To bring the population explosion under control we will have to gain control over what is causing the explosion. Thomas Malthus thought war, famine and disease would control it. He was wrong. We have had many wars, famines and disease epidemics, plus attacks of genocide since Malthus’ days and the population has continued to explode. Family planning and the choice of abortion seem to be the best methods of control today. However, there are strong factions against this method.
Life
Pro-Lifer’s are of the opinion that to abort is to murder. They have unfounded ideas that life begins at conception. Reports from both the Pro-Choice and the Pro-Lifer’s have claimed many stages in the formation of the embryo when actual life takes place. The medical profession cannot agree on a firm commitment as to when embryos can be considered a living human being.
According to the Bible, Adam didn’t have life until God caused him to breathe by giving him the “breath of life”.
We read in “Genesis” 2:7, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul”. (Underlining mine for emphasis.)
According to the Bible, Adam was created an adult. He was made from the dust of the ground and existed as a formation of organic molecules of matter. Adam was not breathing and had no life until God breathed into his nostrils “the breath of life,” then, and only then, did Adam have life.
Another Bible story shows that this was not necessary to have life. That story is in “Genesis” 2:21-22. Eve was not created from the dust of the ground, but from a rib of Adam. I note that God did not breathe into her nostrils the breath of life, so, evidently, Eve did not become a “living Soul”.
If this be true, what gave Eve life? Adam’s rib or God? We can also ask the question, When does life enter the embryo? It does get rather complicated, doesn’t it? No one knows what life is or where it comes from so we guess.
Dr. Henry Morris, President if the Institute for Creation Research, writes in his book, “The Bible Has the Answers” (1971), we should not be too concerned with the population explosion. It is not critical at this time. On page 184 he says, “It is God’s intent that man should fill the entire earth, at least to the extent of its optimum productivity. Since this has not yet been accomplished, it is overt disobedience to God’s command to seek now to impose population controls to prevent it.” That is Dr. Morris’ opinion, not mine.
Trying to find a workable method to control the world’s population problems is, I think, an impossible cherished endeavor. China and Africa and some of the other countries have had a population problem for centuries. They have learned to live with and do not feel concerned about it like we in the Western world do. It is their way of life, their bred-in cultures. They thrive on it the best they can and go on living with it year after year. However, look at the leaders of any one of these countries. They are well fed, clothed, housed and educated. Why they and not their subjects? Because it is their culture. It always has been that way. Whose responsibility is it to change their culture? You can send them all the money and food you want to and it will feed them and clothe them but it will not change their culture. We have been doing this for over 75 years that I know of personally with helping Africa, and nothing has change in 75 years of trying as far as controlling their population. By helping to feed them we helped them propagate further.
So far, everything that man has tried has not worked. Man has only remedied the effect and has been unable to remedy the cause. What shall we try next to control the world’s population explosion?
Christianity’s Solution
Returning to Dr. Morris’ book, he writes on page 185 regarding the population explosion.
This present order of things is not destined to last forever. Long before the world population ever reaches a lethal density, the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again and the population of the earth will be drastically reduced by at least two great events.
In the first place, all living believers, redeemed by faith in Christ, will be suddenly taken out of the world to meet Him in the air (1 Thess. 4:17). Secondly, those who remain will face the awful seven-year judgment period on earth known as the Great Tribulation. Of these, one fourth will be slain in one set of judgments (Rev: 6:8) and again a third part of the remainder by another set (Rev. 9:18). Other catastrophes likewise take their toll so that finally, “”the curse hath devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate; therefore the inhabitant of the earth are burned, and few men left.”
However, I believe between now and the second coming of Christ we should give planned parenthood and safe legal abortion a chance.
What is the true motivation behind the Church’s frantic desire to abolish abortion? Is it to save the unborn babies? Don’t be so naïve. Analyze it and you will see it is one of the most clever ploys to gain power that you can imagine. A most ideally clever mode to gain complete controlling power over the masses. We have to go back a few thousand years or so when we humans came down out of the trees into the savannas.
Our speech was grunts and sign language was the acute mark of brilliance. This was before the days of the Pharisees, Philistines, Ammonites, the Twelve Disciples, and the Virgin Mary had not been born. In fact, it was so far back in time that the pharaoh’s daughter had not found the little Jewish baby floating in a basket in the Nile River. No one knew how to write, even to making marks in the dirt with a twig. Because no one knew how to write, no one knew what it meant to read. Humankind was at the beginning unless you want to get involved with a couple of nudes called Adam and Eve and their pet talking snake. This snake was the Charlie McCarthy of his time as he had a ventriloquist named Satan.
Thousands of years later we humans learned to talk, write our hieroglyphics on stone and clay slabs, weave flax to cover our nakedness, build thatched abodes and began making love to propagate our species. (Love is what caused the beginning of the population explosion that was to come later.)
Imagine the fear of early man when he experienced his first bolt of lightening during the darkness of night and felt the power of thunder as it shook the ground beneath his feet. He huddled in his cave or hut and saw the waters that always flowed through pathways in the ground now falling from the sky. Afterwards, the sky lit up with many twinkling eyes that looked down and watched him all through the night. It must have been a frighten experience. Such a sky was frightening and mysterious; fear gave way to superstition of what was in the sky.
Polytheism
When man does not know what something is he becomes curious. Imagination takes over. Slowly, superstition crept in added by a dash of fear, and he can concocted some weird fantasies. This was the beginning of religion with their gods, spirits, sacrifices and omens.
Coyote was the god of the Crow Indians of North America. According to the Crows, Coyote built a boat and, taking two ducks with him, set out upon the waters of creation. He ordered the ducks to dive into the waters and bring back some mud. From this mud he created the earth and all its creatures. However, if creation took place after Coyote got the mud, where did the two ducks come from? You don’t question the gods!
We have the Chinese to make us thankful that we have only one sun. They believed when the earth was created, there were ten suns. This generated so much heat the earth began to burn up. Their god Yi, an expert archer, with his magic bow, saved the earth by shooting down nine suns.
Immortal life came from the Celtic’s god Goibniv (aka Govannon), who was a supreme brewmaster. Anyone drinking his beer gained immortality.
Ometecutli was the Aztecs’ god of fire. Misor was the Semite god who created salt. There was a god for anything and every thing.
Polytheism is a belief in the plurality of gods, not necessarily equal in importance, each of which is distinguished by a special function. The Indian Veda, for example, features Agni the fire god, Vayu the wind god, and Indra the storm god.
Dynastic Egypt had hundreds of deities, but worship (as in Greek Olympianism) was city-centered.
The gods of polytheistic systems are organized into a cosmic family, featured in legend and myth and expressing beliefs about the individuals relationship with the universe. The lesser deities of the polytheism tend to diminish with time until the religion exhibits monotheistic tendencies. Thus the Olympian sky god Zeus became the head of all Olympian deities; the Egyptian god Ra, became the supreme god of Egypt; and the several thousand Vedic gods of the Hindus, were gradually displaced by the trinity of Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma.
One Sided
The Christian’s religion is monotheistic, a faith believing in one God and one God only. God is the divinity of the three great monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In the Old Testament, various names for God are used, Elohim most commonly. The four-letter word YHWH is the most celebrated and considered by the Hebrews too sacred to pronounce. They also consider it ineffable and, in reading their scriptures, substitute the name Adonai, so they dont have to pronounce that sacred word.
The Greek god Zeus was a supreme god, the son of Oronus whom he succeeded, and Rhea, his brother, the husband of Hera, whose son Hephaestus was the god of Volcanoes. Zeus was also an amorous god who loved many goddesses, nymphs and, also mortals. It is said he had 115 mistresses and 140 children. As a lover, Zeus was an amateur compared to King Solomon of the Old Testament who had 700 wives and 300 lovers on the side (1 Kings 11:3). And I doubt if God knows how many offsprings. This is one of the reasons I am skeptical of the Bible. Men can have all the wives and concubines on the side that they want and it is OK in the sight of God. But if a woman tries to have a second husband or a boy friend on the side, the wrath of God, all his angels, the prophets and the horrors of hell rains down on her and she is cursed to the ends of hell. I don’t want to belong to any church that has that kind of a God. With these one sided permissions the Bible writers were a biased and prejudiced cult.
The Romans equated Zeus with their own supreme god Jupiter (aka Jove). He was the son of Saturn, the agriculture god.
Alignak was the Eskimo’s god of the fallen snow. He could also cure sterility in women. These various gods had the power to do many things.
I could tell you about many other gods because, there is no end to them. As some of the ancient religions became extinct, strangely, so did their gods.
Even in this day and age, there are those who believe in gods that seem strange to me. And they look at my God and your God and think we, too, have strange gods, and they have a right to think so. I never criticize another faith; I would consider that, to be sacrilegious.
So much for the necessary reasons to curtail the birth of unwanted children. Let us take a close look at why the Pope and his followers are so energetic in this abortion feud.
Holy Men?
As humans made more and more like the birds and the bees, villages, towns and cities, yeah, even nations sprung up on the land. In every large crowd of people, even today, there is always one or two who can see a opportunity in the making. The little guys are called “pick-pockets,” the big guy are called “operators”. This was the beginning of several men claiming they knew more about the spirits, gods and omens than anyone else. Some claimed to have talked with these creatures that lived in the sky. These men called themselves priests. Soon they became known as Holy Men. Religion was off and running. The more gullible the group the more important the priest became. The more important he became the more control he had over those who believed in him. The key to the whole operation was the control over the ignorant and illiterate. If you could control the people you could control the world and you could become the controlling factor! It was the era of the take over of the ignorant masses. In time, the priests became Popes and they built an empire.
It is amazing that in those early days so much was known about spirits, gods, and devils but nothing was known that the stars were huge balls of exploding hydrogen gas. Water was only two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen. The continents moved on tectonic plates. The earth orbited around the Sun. The light of the moon was only the reflected light from the sun. They were other planets. We had only two chains of thought, religion and ignorance. The Church of the Holy Roman Empire controlled the known world (of ignorance) and ruled it with an iron fist for many years according to our history books.
However, some men arose that began to wonder. Socrates said, “Wisdom begins with wonder.” Men like Nicolaus Copernicus (1473-1543). Tycho Brahe (1546-1601). Galilee Galilei (1564-1642). Johann Kepler (1571-1630). Sir Isaac Newton (1643-1727). These men began to take the glory of knowledge away from the Church know-it-alls and a new phase of knowledge began to take shape. It was and is called Science. The Church lost it controlling power of the masses. They want it back. They can no longer burn people at the stake for disagreeing with their myths. The Popes lost their credentials for establishing the moral standards for the world. They have been trying hard to regain their control to no avail.
However, with such a touchy subject as BABIES, ah! their minds are beginning to click. They are trying to pluck on the heart strings of humanity but they are playing a tune with a lot of sour notes and people who know something of ancient history don’t like the melody. The church is trying to get their toe in the door of authority to gain back the control over the minds of people they once had. But Science with its logic of reasoning stands in their way. While they can’t get the door open they will keep banging on the door to make a great noise to disturb others who will not yield to their ultimate goal of control. Thus you can plainly see, abortion is only a ploy to suit their purpose and in desperation they will play it to the hilt. They have stooped so low as to take to murder to obtain their goal. They want to take control of your mind so you will think and do as they want you to. This is called “mind control”. The Roman Catholic Church was built on such tactics centuries ago.
