In these
Frome pages, AskWhy! gives a few facts about the history and people of Frome and its Wessex environs. It is in the heart of the old Saxon kingdom of Wessex, and therefore at the center of a plethora of interesting historical houses and places. Frome is a long neglected town, but the neglect has preserved much of it, and it is slowly reviving as its more glamoorous neighbours get too expensive or overcrowded. It is not a tourist attraction itself but is just the place for a holiday center for seeing old England from Stonehenge to the Tank Museum, with a few tankards of cider thrown in of an evening!
