Anthroposaurus

The Dinosauroid: Dale Russell's Humanoid Dinosaur

Abstract

Dale Russell, discoverer of Stenonychosaurus (now called Troodon), then of the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Ottawa, Canada, postulated that late Cretaceous dinosaurs were well on the way to becoming intellectual animals, and would have succeeded if the dinosaurs had not suffered extinction. Stenonychosaurus had an opposable thumb, stood upright about three feet tall and had binocular vision. Who Lies Sleeping? The Dinosaur Heritage and the Extinction of Man by Dr Michael D Magee

Before you go, think about this…

In human beings, an initial caution over, or even fear of, something can be overcome by the power of curiosity. Indeed, whatever seems bizarre or scary often seems particularly interesting. Children like being scared, and often show much more interest in demonic things than in God. Quite young children told about the Devil being expelled from heaven, see him as a sad figure. They feel sorry for him, see him as friendless and want to befriend him. They want to show him some love and through it show him the error of his ways, and reform him. They actually show the behaviour that the Christian god, Christ, recommended to everyone. But by the time they are adults, many of them have been taught to shoot first and ask questions later. They call themselves Christians, but were closer to Christ as innocent children than as adults, even though Christ told them to be like children and to love one another—Christian hypocrisy.

The Wisdom of Carl
The chemist Linus Pauling (1901-94) was, more than any other person, responsible for the Limited Test Ban Treaty of 1963, which halted above-ground explosions of nuclear weapons by the United States, the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom. He mounted a blistering campaign of moral outrage and scientific data, made more credible by the fact that he was a Nobel laureate. In the American press, he was generally vilified for his troubles, and in the 1950s the State Department cancelled his passport because he had been insufficiently anti-communist.
