To the scientist trying to sort out the nature of reality, evidence rules. The evidence must come from the natural world, by direct observation or inference from observation. Everything else is suspect. This doesn’t mean the scientist thinks his evidence-based outlook can answer any question or satisfy any need. Most scientists acknowledge the limits of science, accepting religion is another way to perceive reality.
