Draft Impeachment Letter:
The Bush administration refused to go the last mile to avoid war. They had no intention of doing so. Bush targetted Iraq immediately, in revenge for the Twin Towers atrocity. Will someone explain to these ignorant cowboys that when someone mugs you, it is not justice to take revenge on someone else you do not like. Saddam is not Osama Bin Laden, and killing Saddam’s people was not justice, it was cold blooded and unmitigated murder.George Bush thought we had to be prepared for loss of life. Blair told us he would minimise civilian casualties. Even so there were tens of thousands of deaths. Deaths of our soldiers then continued, and a civil servant hounded by the UK government committed suicide, all to detract from the absence of WMDs. If there were any, they were no threat to us. This war was unnecessary. It follows that every death on either side was unnecessary. These deaths are on Bush’s and Blair’s consciences. They caused them!
The principle that was incorporated into the laws of all civilised countries to prevent injustice was that all accusations had to be proven beyond reasonable doubt before a judge and jury in an open, that is, public, court room. Until that had happened everyone was presumed to be innocent. It was a principle valued by both rich and poor. The poor knew only too well that the rich could use their wealth and its concomitant power to pin crimes on to them to distract attention for the ones who had really perpetrated them. But the rich who had read their history knew that when law and order broke down, they too could suffer from false accusations, whether from powerful and profligate princes like Justinian, the Great Christian emperor (who also made laws that he was exempt from) or the greedy, rancid Christian bishops of the middle ages. It was far more profitable for those seeking money to accuse the wealthy than to accuse the defenceless poor. Seneca said, “Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.” Bush and Blair were rulers. They were obviously not wise, flaunted their religion, and had contempt for the people.

Protest
Send them to local newspapers too. Pester local and national representatives, MPs, Governors, Senators, PMs, Presidents, anyone important, with as many as you need to get attention. Let them know the killing—and destruction of our own hard won democracy in the name of the “war on terrorism&rdquo—were not in our names! The criminals must be punished or our values are held up by the world as hypocritical. Lists of media and politicians can be found online. Here are some websites with email links:
